Visa Kind & Level of English You Need

IELTS Scores & Time Given for Each Module

It’s mandatory that you complete the IELTS test in 1 single sitting. You will get 2 hours and 45 minutes for the test: Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing (60 minutes), and     Speaking (11–14 minutes).

IELTS Score for Australia

Vocational English: Not less than 5 points for each of the 4 test components.

IELTS score for Australia PR

Competent English: Not less than 6 points for each of the 4 components.

Additional Points: What IELTS Score Will Fetch You These?

In case you get an IELTS Score above 6, you may qualify to be accepted as having either proficient or superior English.

In case you start hitting the said high thresholds, you will get added points.

IELTS Score for Proficient English

An IELTS score of at least 7 for each of the 4 test components.  With Proficient English, you will get 10 points extra.

IELTS Score for Superior English

An IELTS score of at least 8 for each of the 4 test components.  With Superior English, you will get 20 points extra.
