Here is a quick overview for all those applicants planning to study in Canada. Know about the Canadian Education System via this blog:

Under the Canada’s Constitution Act, 1867, the education system in Canada has been kept under jurisdiction of the provinces and territories. Also, the curriculum is overseen by the province. Each province is draped with a different education system, thus reflecting a diverse heritage of every province.

The education is divided into “Private Education System” and “Public Education System.” The public education is provided free of cost up to and including secondary school. Secondary education could go up to Grade 11, 12 or 13, in accordance with different province. Also, private religious schools are dealt differently in every province. It is mandatory to have education up to the age of 16, barring Ontario and New Brunswick, where the age limit is 18.

Division:

  • Pre-School: Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten
  • Elementary School: Grade 1 to Grade 6 (some province include Grade 7 and Grade 8 )
  • Junior High School: Some provinces merge High School and Junior High School. That makes it Grade 8 to Grade 12.
  • High School: Grades 9 to 12. Some provinces define it as Grade 8 to 12.
  • Post Secondary Education: Students can opt for various institutions like University, University Colleges, Career Colleges or Community Colleges.

Also, the education system in Quebec is governed by the Ministry of Education, Recreations and Sports.

If you are staying in Canada under the Student Visa, then it would be beneficial to read this blog further…

With the recent liberalization of rules, students who are studying in Canada and are on summer break would find it convenient to work, gain financial independence and have the relevant work experience for their future benefit. In addition, they don’t have to spend extra money and travel to their home country to gain work experience while they are on their summer break.

The benefits are also amplified to the spouses of foreign students as they are entitled to an open work permit and if found eligible, can work full time anywhere after getting a work permit for a fee of $150.00.

In addition, on-campus employment is valid for all those applicants who are enrolled in an accepted institution; while on the other hand, the off-campus restrictions are not too stringent too. Here are some of the regulations:

  • A full-time student having a study permit is eligible to work on campus after fulfilling the essential requirements.
  • As far as the off-campus work regulations are concerned, it is essential that the applicant should have an enrollment in an approved educational institution with a full-time course.

Student immigration visa programs are probably one of the best and surest ways to become a permanent resident of Canada. The ones who manage to fulfill the mandatory requirements for the relevant student educational and visa programs find themselves in a beneficial state as due to liberal permanent immigration policies of the Canadian Government.

The Government of Canada wants to keep international students to make Canada their permanent home. The reason for that is very clear; they have Canadian qualifications and in most cases Canadian experience, if they study in Canada. That means they can be employed in the Canadian Job market immediately.

Important issue to understand and have knowledge of is that one can go to Canada as an international student even at the School level. With Schooling qualification from Canada, admission to Canadian universities and other higher learning institutions becomes easier.

Why waste time? Just enroll your kids in some of the best Canadian schools and other higher learning institutions and brighten up their (yours’ through family sponsorship!) chances of Immigration in future! And of course, it is never to late hire an Immigration and Visa expert today to know more…
