For any foreign national who wishes to visit the United States, it is mandatory for him to obtain a non-immigrant visa. Such visas are meant for people who enter the nation with a specific purpose and reside in the nation temporarily. With this visa in hand, the foreign national can travel to the US and seek the permission of the US immigration inspector to enter the country. The visitor visas include those for business which is the B-1 visa, for medical treatment or pleasures is the B-2 visa and others include a combination of the above.

At the same time, the United States has a Visa Waiver Program with some nations where in the nationals from these specific countries need not obtain a visa. However, these applicants must qualify with the visa requirements under the guidelines. With the Visa Waiver Program in place, there are thirty six nations which are participating in this program. It permits travelers from these countries to US to visit for the purpose of tourism, official or business and are permitted to reside in the nation for up to ninety days or less, that too without obtaining a visa. This program was introduced to reduce certain irrelevant hindrances pertaining to travel. With this, it was also done to promote the tourism industry. At the same time, it also allows the Department of State to concentrate the consular resources in other aspects.

On the other hand, those not belonging to these specific countries would have to apply for a tourist visa. This can be done at the US Embassy or Consulate in the specific country. An appointment for an interview can be requested for. In such a case, the applicant has to prove that he has strong ties as well as an employment which is stabilized. Also, he has to prove that he has a decent income along with a valid and a legitimate reason for his trip.

Here, it is important to note that the Consular Officer has very little time to take a decision regarding the eligibility of the applicant for the visa. So, during the interview, the visa official would question the applicant regarding his intent and purpose of making this trip. With this, questions pertaining to whether or not the applicant was involved with any violation of law or visas in the past. Above all, the applicant would be assessed for his strong ties to his native country. This would be proved by the evidence he submits.

Above all, it is has to be ensured that the documents are submitted along with the application form. More so, the right and the relevant documents which cater to the visa must be submitted. It is best to consult a visa expert in this regard who deals with US visit visas. He would be the one who would be updated with all the latest and can guide you appropriately.

It is said that some aspects or things in this world never change. This phrase was just proved to me when I went back to my college today. It’s been four years since I finished my Bachelor’s degree from a college which is known to be highly academically oriented. Our student days are the most cherished because this is the time when we make friends for life. So, whenever we step back and rewind, we expect happy memories. But then life is not the way it seems to be…

After four years, I went back to my college only to meet an administrative staff which is cold and distant. It was the same then but as a student it was expected. However, fours years later when I am a working professional, my outlook has obviously changed. But then, no surprises here, it is India and it is very common to be received like that especially in a government educational institution. Just like any other ex-student who wanted her mark sheet copies to be attested, I asked the concerned people for the same.

As always, part of the job was done instantly, which included paying money for the transcripts and collecting a receipt. But when it came to stamping my mark sheets, apparently it is too time consuming to stamp five copies of degree and mark sheets. More so, when it came to leaving the concerned documents after verification for the work to be done and being collected later, it seems some aspects are simply not possible.

As professionals, we all aim to work towards a solution for any problem. But when it comes to a government institution, harassment is the only answer. All that these people are trained to do is make visitors wait because time is a resource for them. Apparently, colleges in Delhi (especially my college) seem to be forgetting that a college gains its reputation only because of its students.

On the other hand, we have our professors who introduce us to their current batch of students as one of the brightest of our times. We are set as an example which we obviously never thought when we were studying that we would secure such a position in the hearts of our professors. They are more than glad to help but then when it comes to the administrative part, even they fall back.

I know this write-up aims at some negative publicity but it is high time some sense of acknowledgement comes in from these people who think that they are the stalwarts of the college. They have to be reminded that they are the first ones who represent the college to an outsider who walks into the campus. As students, we were taught how important it is to be professional to succeed in this highly competitive world. But it seems to be the least important for those who are important where it matters.

Imagine someone saying the above in a corporate office to an outsider! The scene would be definitely somewhat different. Resisting a visitor like that would mean an insult which clearly is not a good show put up by an organization. Time is a resource for everyone and not a mere individual. It is high time that this fact is realized by those who are earning a fat sum of money only to ask people to come back later!

The doomed flight IX-812 of Air India Express from Dubai-Mangalore, which killed one hundred and fifty eight passengers on the fatal day of May 22, had two passengers in it who were traveling on illegal passports. Abdul Samad who belongs to Kochipalli which is located in Kannur district which is located in Kerala, and another Mohammad Ashfaq who is from Mumbai, both died in the crash, the same source affirmed the news.

In another case of the same incident, records found out that a passenger had made a call from his mobile phone and had used an international Sim card. Arun Kumar Shetty is the concerned man in question here and the call was made half an hour before the fatal accident occurred.

We all know that the Common Wealth Games are round the corner yet Delhi does not exactly seem to be in a position to be the perfect host. With all the hushing and rushing to finish the work, some aspects are definitely being overlooked. The most staggering of the disclosures which has come to light is the scandal where in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) reported that all the quality certifications which have been assessed by the CVC team in the 16 Games projects are either forged or are suspected of being forged.

Such fake certificates were found to have been granted to clear the work which was as per the standards and included materials that were not up to the mark. The financial implications that have come about with this are yet to be figured out. But it sure has led to major gains for all the vendors and contractors involved. Corruption is so deeply entrenched in this nation that nothing can be prevented from it. With such a fact coming to light, the team from CBI is also checking all the complaints that have been received from different channels.

As of now, only 16 projects have been inspected for up gradation related issues. These include the construction of pavements, roads, road grade separate, street lighting and so on. These cost about Rs. 2,477.22 crores.

During the course of investigation, the involvement of a third party quality assurance agency was also found. The civic agencies had appointed this agency to ensure the quality of work and the materials used. As of now, it has been found that all the certifications that have been issued have come about without ground verification or even technical assessment. This has led to the suspicion of whether or not these documents are fake or forged.

One instance took place last week where in during a testing event, a swimmer was injured due to a loose grill. This is just one minor incident which could lead to grave incidents. If the raw materials that have been used are found of low grade or quality, this could mean a threat for any form of mishap with the athletes and for the public witnessing the games. The more serious implications involve the reputation of India on a global platform.

With a global event about to be hosted by the nation, it is such a shame that this incident could not be found about sooner. Now that the work is half way through, the outcome is hard to imagine. Would the work be permitted to continue with the inferior and low cost material or would everything be put to a stop? All in all, this can be considered as one of the biggest controversies which if not rectified would have a dire impact on the nation at a global level.

The recent raids at workplaces where in about 23 Texas based firms were charged with cases of hiring illegal immigrants led to their recent audits. The Employers’ I-9 form which is an essential document is needed for all the workers (including both citizens as well as immigrants) for them to qualify to work in an organization.

According to the Director of ICE, John Morton told the Senate committee that putting a stop on the unauthorized labor is one of the main measures to stop illegal migration. He said this during his 2009 confirmation hearing. He further said that a decrease in illegal migration could only be maintained by putting an end to unauthorized labor. Here, it has to be seen that all the local employers are following the rules.

A Gonzales company, the Soncrest Egg Company was levied a fine of around $34,000 in May since the company failed to provide with I-9 forms for its employees. Similarly, Girard Sign Company in San Antonio was charged with a fine of $4,400.

If looked at the above, it could be clearly said that the government has increased its focus towards the local employers. At the same time, it has led to lower number of criminal prosecutions being carried out when compared to the last few years.

According to the ICE Spokesman, Richard Rocha, the main focus is now on the most flagrant of all the criminals. The results are clearly projecting the outcome of the efforts being out in.

However, according to the Executive Counsel of Americans for Immigration Reform (based in Houston), Beto Cardenas, the main effect of the audits which led to the termination of the workers from their jobs might lead to worse consequences.

Thus, it can be said that there is a mix of opinion. It is agreed that the effects could be dire on both sides with putting an end of illegal migration. But then there would be many who would be out of their source for income.

Two Indians were arrested for working in an Indian restaurant in Scotland illegally. The two Indian nationals have been pressed with charges. These people would be deported soon. A raid was conducted which led to the discovery of these two Indians. This raid took place in Paisley at a restaurant named Ajuba.

A fine of twenty thousand pounds has been charged on the restaurant owner for allowing people to work without a work permit. The two arrested Indian citizens were aged 25 and 34 years. They did not have the permission to work in the United Kingdom.

According to the Regional Director of the UK Border Agency in Scotland and Northern Ireland, Phil Taylor, foreign migrants are permitted to work in areas where there is a shortage of the necessary skills. At the same time, if immigrants are found to be ignoring the laws, the UK government would find and deport them from the nation.

According to the owner of the Ajuba restaurant, Gurarmit Singh, the younger of the two men arrested was employed on a trial basis and was to bring his documents where as the other Indian was not employed by the restaurant. He also said that he cannot afford 20,000 pounds as fine. It is a fresh business for him where in things are not going on as per the plans.

Finally, Indians have their own browser to surf the Internet. The brilliant minds from Hidden Reflex which is a software company based in Bangalore has come about with a web browser named Epic this week. This is the first ever browser launched in India and developed by Indians.

This browser has been developed based on the Mozilla platform by a team of engineers. They claim it to be the first anti-virus browser of its kind. The in-built antivirus caters to warnings as well as protection pertaining to Phishing. This browser is available for download completely free of charge from the Internet.

The browser has a special sidebar for India which caters to content from India. It offers the users with all the news catering to the national as well as the regional news. This includes news from various publications, videos, live cricket scores, top music scores, local events, live television channels, stock quotes and so on.

With Epic, the Indian users can access more than 1500 Indian themes which are customized along with the wallpapers which include Bollywood and regional film stars, freedom fighters apart from others.

With the above, the sidebar also permits creating documents. These documents could be formed in twelve different Indian languages. Other common applications such as Gmail, Orkut, Facebook, games along with My Computer, File Backup, To-Do List, Maps etc. are also installed in prior.

The above is clearly a significant achievement for India which clearly proves the adept skills as well as the brains of the Indians. All that is needed is the will and determination to prove what one believes in.

With projects pertaining to Information, Communication and Technology being introduced in the rural areas by various institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) and so on, this browser is an invention which caters and identifies with the real India.

We all know how educating the rural India would lead to the empowerment of the nation. With Epic in place, it would be easy for the villagers to acquire information which is useful to them. This is because it is understood that these villagers would not have much use of world news which does not affect them directly.

Since the rural India is more or less dependent on agriculture and traditional forms of livelihood, they would want access to information which caters to their instant needs and livelihood. With Epic in place, this need would be catered to very easily, effectively and efficiently.

Above all, it is the next big achievement after the symbol of Rupee, announced yesterday which is the fifth currency in the world to have its own symbol. Thus, India is definitely climbing great heights with such concepts coming about.
