A couple of Indian origin, Jasbir Singh and his spouse Gurdeep Kaur were recently taken into custody from IGI Airport for trafficking undocumented applicants to Canada.
According to reports, the couple was intending to send Avtar Singh and spouse Mandeep Kaur, along with another applicant Rajendra Singh, after applying illegal practices in their Immigration process. An official confirmed that the trio contacted their agency “Trident Immigration Services” through a newspaper advertisement.
O P Mishra, DCP, IGI Airport confirmed that Singh had demanded Rs.25 Lakh each from the applicants, asking them to pay Rs. 10 lakh at the first go. The remaining amount was to be paid after getting the passports approved.
After getting the first money, the alleged contacted his cousin Amanpreet Singh to commence the whole procedure further. Reports confirm that the cousin was a Canadian national and the money is equally shared amongst both of them.
The couple along with the trio moved to Bangkok on December 19, 2009. They went to Fiji via Hong Kong and were finally caught at the IGI airport after arriving from Fiji, along with other suspects involved in the case. The cousin had organized their stay, courtesy assistance from Dr Ali in Fiji, an agent in Fiji.

Jason Kenney, Immigration Minister Canada has recently criticized the fact that people with poor language skills easily gain Canadian Citizenship.
