If you deal in “Client Servicing” I am sure you would have heard these lines so many times… “I want this job done as soon as possible” or what about this one? “Others can do this job in half the rate, why can’t you?”
I know there are so many types of clients who just have the habit of cribbing and nagging over small issues and making them biiiiiiiiig, thanks to their “annoying” attitude. It is not that clients are always irritating… No! We have suave and respectful clients as well. Okay, so let us dig into the various genres of clients we encounter on a daily basis:
Clients who are experts in breaking promises: These type of clients remind us of the fact that how essential it becomes to sign a “contract” in advance. A signed contract ensures that the client does not break his word. This type of nagging is dishonorable and can lead to a bad mutual relationship in future. Hence, if any how, you speculate that the prospective client is going to be a “word-breaker,” sign the contract in advance and clear all the conditions at the initial stage.
Clueless Confused Clients: Now you have these clueless people who don’t know why they have come to you! First, they demand something else and then suddenly they have a new idea in their mind and they ask you “How about this one.”? I can very well imagine your face at that moment. This type of client is completely ignorant on what he wants to achieve in life. At first, he is all well with you. The problem starts coming in when he starts changing his mind! These are those people who don’t see time and day and ring your cell phones in the middle of the night, just because they have got a new idea!
Third category of clients belongs to them who think that they know everything! Just before coming to you, they do their homework, think that they are extra smart and start dominating you at the first go! As if they are the pioneers of this industry and you are nothing in front of them… Just a small child who is learning his basics. This type of people want you to put all the efforts at one go!
Kings and Queens: These clients think that once they have paid you the amount, you are bound to obey every command of theirs! These clients don’t see whether it’s a public holiday or you are busy in a meeting… No! They want their work to be done now! Just now! Yes, this very moment! And please, don’t expect that you would be paid any extra amount of money! Just bow your head and say “Yes Mam/ Sir” Kaam ho jayega (Work would be done!)
Then you have those people who never hesitate to bring in their expert comments in between, just because they think they have read a few books on this topic.
Chameleons: These clients change color at every phase. First, they agree on your discussions, then after three days, you receive a call from them that whatever has been implemented in the project till now was never ever discussed with them. And now this client will ask for his money back. These are sometimes mean and pushy clients too.
Free Holders: They don’t want to pay the extra money, but are always ready to suck more work out of you! In short, they want more blood from your tiny body at free of cost! They want discounts, free coupons and every free service they can grab at first instance!
Well, there are soft spoken and reliable clients too! Let us discuss them some other day!
Under the General Category of the Ontario Provincial Nominee Program, employers can hire skilled international workers for a job position. The nominated employees can be the ones who live outside Canada, as well as who reside in Canada lawfully. The latter can be the ones who hold temporary work visas, or visitor visas.
Employers when applying for the nominations, they must mention whether they are applying nominations for foreign workers from foreign land or workers who reside in Canada with legal status. As for the prospective nominees who are in Canada already as temporary workers or visitors, they must demonstrate through their respective credentials that they are lawfully residing in the country.
Let us have a look at the process followed under the General Category:
The process involved is a two-step application process. At the first stage, the participating employers are required to submit a pre-screen application to the Opportunities Ontario. With this application, the employers request positions for which they require international workers. It is noteworthy that those pre-screen applications are processed first which arrive first. Those employers’ applications are likely to get processed on priority basis if it is found that the employers have looked for Canadian citizens/ permanent residents of Ontario in order to fill those positions before applying to the Opportunities Ontario.
At the second stage, the individuals who have got the clearance or recruited by some employers are required to submit a nominee application to the Opportunities Ontario. Here as well, the processing service is provided to those that arrive first.
The troubles for Denmark immigrants do not seem to end at all. To add another feather to their worries, a new proposal has been introduced for them. Karsten Lauritzen, one of the immigration spokesman belonging to the Ruling Liberal Party-Venestre , has said that migrants must be paid just 50 Kroner for an hour rather than paying 100 Kroner which is the usual income of a native worker. He also said that this new measure is in the favor of immigrants only because higher wages are not being paid to them by the employers and lower salary can help them get the jobs.
As per the Immigration Spokesperson, it would be in the interest of the immigration which would ease out the difficulties for them in getting employment. He further said that high pay-packages are like a barrier to them and we have to pay them less for them to get the jobs. Some have really appreciated this suggestion and have given consent. While some have really opposed it by saying that this is going to be an unfair deal with the immigrants. In Venestre, this proposal has received a serious opposition from the people who feels that this move would be very discriminatory.
Birthe .R. Hornbech, Immigration Minister publicly spoke against this proposal though she is from the department only. She said that the new proposal does not go parallel with the nation’s policy which believes in equality amongst its residents. Hence, it becomes a duty of the Denmark government to see everyone with the same eyes with no discrimination. She further commented that the proposal is “disagreeable” and sends across the message that it would cause a stigma amongst the immigrants.
There are about half a million immigrants in Denmark and amongst them, many are asylum seekers coming from conflict areas. There are many qualified Iraqis which include professionals like doctors, scientists and engineers who are jobless. All these factors have really made the immigration a critical issue in the country.

By now, it is a known fact that the United States requires immigrants to possess visas before crossing the borders and work afterwards. Those who have tried are also aware that getting visas can be often difficult. Many people found that an employment offer in hand which is from a US employer who is likely to sponsor themselves for a visa is the ideal way to enter the US. Even though, it seems an easier way, there are still obligations attached to this process. Let us have a look at them:
Applicants must have the skills that are required or approved in the US.
Applicants being members of the professions with bachelor degrees would also help.
The applicants must have been recruited in a managerial/executive position for a minimum of one year in the previous three years. The organization or firm which has employed the applicants must have its operations in America. The applicants must also be willing to serve the same organization in the US.
The applicants must demonstrate special ability in business/arts/science with which they would be able to benefit the US economy, or the cultural/educational/welfare aspects of the nation.
Individuals who are the members of the professions with bachelor degrees, as well as those with special ability do not necessarily need to have a job offer from a US employer. Without a job offer, they can be able to apply own visas.
Besides the above, getting a Diversity Immigrant Visa is one more option to enter the US. On a yearly basis, the United States issues 50,000 of this visa.
Another option is family category. There is a chance for an individual to obtain a US visa, if he/she has a close family member residing in the US. The sponsor must either be a citizen or a permanent resident in the United States. In other words, US citizens are permitted to apply for visas for their spouses/siblings/children/parents. And PRs are eligible to apply for visas for their spouses or children, but not married ones.
How many times do we really compliment or appreciate ourselves for doing good things in our life? Some of you must be wondering what I am talking about. After all, who compliments oneself? And here I say, why not? We appreciate everyone around us whether they are office colleagues when they do some good work or dress up nicely or our spouses when they shed those extra kilos and look handsome or beautiful in their tight fitted denims. We appreciate even our neighbors when they achieve something great in their lives.
But isn’t it common that in this busy life we tend to forget to compliment or appreciate ourselves for working hard and fulfilling our responsibilities? Whenever we do something new like losing some extra weight or getting a new hair style, we wait for somebody else to compliment us but we fail to do it ourselves. I guess many of us really don’t and in fact, some may be questioning the use of it.
Self-appreciation is a concept which many of us are not even aware about, forget even practicing it. Being a self-critic, I have always criticized myself for not doing enough or have always looked at myself as an under-achiever. I am sure there must be many people who must be able to relate themselves with my situation. People who are obsessed with perfection or hold high expectations are never content with whatever they do. Such people are the biggest critic of themselves and always see themselves as lazy or under-achievers. This is the reason that no matter whatever they achieve, they are never happy and remain unsatisfied with themselves.
The self-esteem of such people is always very low and you will always find them analyzing themselves too much for even a small mistake. There is no doubt that being a self critic is a good quality which motivates one to grow more and expand his potential. But somewhere, this also takes away a lot of mental peace and happiness which one receives on achieving something.
If you are one of those who fall in to the category of self-critic, then try to appreciate yourself for what you are. Look for some good quality within yourself which I am sure you must be having in abundance and feel good about you. Pat your shoulders for trying to live this life nicely everyday. There is no harm in doing this and instead, it will only boost your self-esteem.
If we criticize ourselves all the time for not being able to do some thing and do not look at the positive aspects of our personality, then we will not be able to cherish the good things of our life. Even if we would be doing a good job at work place or in our family, we will only look down upon ourselves. This tendency is not very good and it de- motivates you or lowers your morale to move forward. Instead, if we adopt this habit of appreciating ourselves or celebrating every small achievement in our life, we will always have a high self-esteem and would be optimistic about our life.
There have been a lot of concerns raised by the farmers regarding consequences of the cap on the foreign sheep shearers walking to the UK. In the previous year, the employers had to apply for work permits for overseas sheep shearers to be hired. At the same time, there are fears pertaining to the new immigration policies which are being brought about by the new Coalition government.
Every summer around five hundred foreign sheep shearers walk into the nation to cater to clipping the fleeces of about 14.5 million animals. This clearly shows the dependence of this industry on foreign labor. According to Baroness Neville-Jones, the Security Minister, few skilled workers would be subject to exceptions. This might involve the above industry, but concerns are still rising within the industry.
New Zealanders are the chief source of this industry being aided with sheep shearers. A shearer who is experienced can cater to around 12,000 to 14,000 sheep in a period of 10 weeks. However, a learner can only take care of about a quarter of the above number.
At the same time, it is difficult to find people in the UK for such jobs. This is because the numbers are simply not good enough, no matter how brilliant the local shearers are. More people are required to finish the tasks on time.
Thus, it is of grave importance to let the foreign workers come to UK as well as the same project should be equally funded which could aid to further encouragement of the youth to take this job professionally.
According to a Bloomberg National Poll, of every ten US citizens, more than seven persons feel that the US economy is still in recession and is in conflict regarding a balance between the federal budget deficit and the lack of jobs in the nation.
The poll which was conducted last week projected similar concerns of the local people as well as the experts. This concern is whether or not the focus should be on creating more opportunities for employment or put a curb on spending. Of the ten local citizens, seven feel that generating more opportunities for employment should be main objective.
There has been a lot of skepticism regarding Obama’s administration and its stimulus program with the public being leery of more spending. More than half of the participants in the poll feel that the deficit is perilously out of control.
The main issue here is the excessive spending catering to the jobless people. In June, the unemployment rate made a record at 9.5%. With this, the public is somewhat skeptical on another extension pertaining to benefits of the unemployed. This extension is being delayed in Congress and would cost another $34 billion.
The survey was conducted by an Iowa based company, Selzer & Co. As per the projections brought out by the White House in February, this year the deficit is expected to be more than $1.5 trillion that is about 10.6% of the GDP. Except for the UK, the US deficit is a higher percentage of GDP when compared to any other industrialized country in the world.
