After all the media hype, cries, speculations, conspiracies and drama, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik agreed to send divorce papers to his alleged wife, with her withdrawing her complaint in return.

Reports also say that he called Ayesha’s landline number to speak out the much awaited words all this while: TALAQ TALAQ TALAQ!

Shoaib was blamed for marrying Ayesha on phone, with the former stating that he was shown the photograph of some other woman, so there is no point in raising the issue of MARRYING THE GIRL!

The duo has reached to a compromise, hence maintaining all the things back to normal! Fans can now think of listening to the marriage bells on April 15th, provided the jelly settles at its place perfectly.

The decision was accompanied by mutual understanding from the elders of Muslim community, along with the representatives from each clan.

Ayesha’s mother Farisa Siddiqui has shown signs of relief stating that her daughter received justice and she is happy now! She told the media that she is on the verge of backing out in the case against Shoaib Malik.

Good news for Sania, that Shoaib is all hers! But poor she, that she has to content herself with the tag of his SECOND WIFE!

CONCLUSION: Ignoring the plight of poor people who die of hunger, victims of rape who commit suicides, a common man who struggles day and night to earn his bread and butter, and children who fail to get education, these mindless journalists ran after the much-hyped Sania-Shoaib controversy, leaving them with nothing in hand, at the end of the day! I pity them!

For all the media hype surrounding the wedding announcement of Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik has generated, one has to give full credit to the couple for taking this courageous decision. This will not be an ordinary marriage. Ask many similar couples who are likewise married and you will soon know about the difficulties of a marriage between an Indian and a Pakistani.

Such marriages rarely get confidence of their respective local communities and depending on where they are based; one of them is looked upon with suspicion. So it is not a surprise that Sania and Shoaib have decided to settle down in Dubai.

More so, it would be an interesting scene to watch when Sania roots for India in a cricket match between India and Pakistan. Shoaib is rarely to face a similar situation since Pakistani women rarely get an opportunity to play international lawn tennis. So the real difficulty is for Sania.

Sania, being known to be the poster girl for the modern Indian Muslim women, India offers her with a varied range of opportunities. The question is would she be able to relate to the highly conservative Pakistani clergy and a male dominated society? The fact remains (and it is proven by factual on ground situation) that amongst all countries with predominantly Muslim community, India offers the most liberal and democratic environment for Muslim women. Can one think of any other Muslim women player of international fame?  India has had many…

So how will Sania adjust to her new relations and countrymen? One cannot be a Dubai citizen for life and at best can be a resident. So which of the two would give up their citizenship for the other? Will Sania sacrifice her tennis career to become a homemaker just because she is married to a Pakistani? Shoaib is on way out in Pakistan Cricket and Sania, at 23 is on way up in international tennis. She has a good seven to ten years ahead of her in sports. If she was married to an Indian, she sure could have got the support from her family as well as the highly liberal Indian community in general. Can she do so after marrying Shoaib and more importantly if she decides to do so, will the Pakistan community in general root for her?

Indeed a very difficult decision for the couple, more so for Sania. She has more at stake then Shoaib, both at career as well as personal level. Nevertheless, we wish this young couple the best for their brave decision. Perhaps, in the everyday madness in the exchange of crazy words between the two Governments, their marriage will be a symbolic gesture for politicians to follow.

IPL is starting from tomorrow onwards. Just when I was thinking that everything is commencing in a smooth manner, a controversy regarding Match Fixing has emerged out of no where…

pakistan-banned-players

Two of the best batsmen in the cricketing history – Pakistan’s Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf, have been sentenced with a lifetime ban which surely marks and END to their cricketing careers. The news has drawn cry from cricket fans from all over the world, but that’s what these culprits deserve for backstabbing their own country – a country which has given them name, fame and almost everything throughout their lives. These so called traitors have sold their country for just a few bucks!

The speculations of Match Fixing started brewing during a recent series against Australia, when the Pakistani team lost against Australia by a huge margin. It was a clean sweep in Test Matches, One Days and T20… Imagine Pakistan’s teams didn’t even manage to win a single match! And do you guys remember the famous ball tampering incident involving Shahid Afridi in the same mentioned series. He chewed the ball as if he was eating an apple and that too in front of the whole media! I mean, imagine the guts of this Pakistani player!  How can he do so, when a small child can tell that Ball Tampering is a serious crime in Cricket!

The suspicion was bound to happen! After the series got over, PCB came into action and conducted a deep investigation, punishing the culprits their deserving punishments in the end!

Hence, here we are with the results: Both Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf have been permanently banned from the national team. In addition, present captain Shoaib Malik and bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hassan are sentenced not to show their faces in the team for one year. Each player was also fined $24,000. It has been said that hard-hitter Shahid Afridi, bowler Umar Akmal and wicket keeper Kamran Akmal may be fined Rs. 3 million each!

Pakistan has already faced serious bans for the last 12 months or so. It was not long back when it was stripped off from its right to conduct International Cricket matches in Pakistani stadiums. Wonder what the future has in store for the great Pakistan and its great Pakistani Team!!!
