Brewer’s Advocates Appealling for SB 1070 at the Federal Court!

With some of the key points in the Arizona Immigration Bill (SB 1070) being blocked, the attorneys for the State Governor are intending to take the case to the Federal Court in California. Here, it has to be remembered that there are twenty seven judges out of whom three would be selected in random to preside over this case in the 9th Circuit Appeals Court.

This would be followed by filing in and listening to intense arguments by these three judges in San Francisco in early November. The appeals court would be asked by the advocates representing Governor Brewer to reverse the ruling made by Susan Bolton, the Phoenix Federal Judge which led to the blocking of SB 1070 without being put into effect completely.

However, this is definitely not a cake walk for the Governor’s advocates when it comes to remove the ruling. A lot of convincing needs to be required for the appeal courts. This was because the ruling was completely unreasonable.

On the other hand, the ACLU feels that this change would not take place. According to Alessandra Soler Meetze from the ACLU, the decision was well made as the judge is well acquainted with the issue.

At the same time, each and every individual agrees that there are issues at the nation’s borders. To this, the US Justice Department feels that only the Federal Government has the right to pass and implement such laws and not the state governments. If the solution does not come out here, then this case would go all the way to the Supreme Court.
