Things which we can’t speak out can be better elaborated through writing. Don’t you guys feel the same? I mean, I personally feel that there have been a lot of instances in life, when I felt that I could not express my emotions through words and I ended up messaging that person and everything seems to be fine then.

For instances, asking out a girl, saying sorry to someone, regretting some thing, opening your heart out, all these things might look tough to express on face but become a  kid’s play when we express them through writing. And trust me, we feel better. Don’t we?

According to a recent study, text messages are becoming one of the most acceptable ways to ask a girl out or you can say “approach them.” Researches in ‘Down Under’ state that Aussies find it a perfect way to express their emotions rather than speaking their heart out in front of a girl. Forget about Australians, doesn’t the whole world think that expressing the thoughts through text messages can be less daunting then speaking through mouth.

We often tend to stammer in front of a person when it comes to expressing the emotions. Goose bumps are common too. But text messages seem to be a boom for people who find it hard to use the power or oral words.

According to the research conducted by Telstra, it has been confirmed that text messages have set an altogether different rules for dating! One in two Aussies feel that text messages are a perfect way to ask someone out on a date. On the contrary, breaking up through the same means is simply not acceptable; at least that’s what half of them feel!

Executive Director Jenny Young from Telstra states that this is not at all astonishing, knowing the fact that the number of cell phones in the country exceed the number of population in Down Under.

And this clearly shows how technology rules our lives in a major way. Apart from this study, I truly believe that text messages are a perfect way to interact with another person, a person with whom you fail to get a compatibility factor through talking personally. After gaining a sense of comfort level, a stage comes when talking doesn’t seems to be a hurdle anymore.

On the contrary, people may find that a guy does not have the guts to ask face to face, but different people different mouths! As long as you have the girl with you and she is happy, you don’t have to acre about anything!

What is a puppet? A puppet is a mindless doll which is controlled by a puppeteer. And aren’t we all the puppets of the society with the latter having control over us? I know I am writing on quite a controversial topic and some may even want to thrash my face for being so daring to call people as mere puppets. How can God’s greatest creation “Man” (who is superior amongst all the species) be compared to a bare puppet?

Puppets of Society

But as I entered my adolescence and started developing my own thinking, all the adults (including my parents, siblings, uncles and aunts) around me started looking like puppets. Every morning, I used to find my sisters spending most of their time dressing up nicely because they wanted to attract some boy in their class. My father always used to get upset as his daughter (of course, it’s me) was always the low scorer in comparison to his neighbor’s daughter. My mother always complained that why are we not living in a posh colony like my other aunts. Day and night, she used to dream of a bigger house in an expensive area like south Delhi so that she can impress her friends and sisters. My younger brother never left any stone unturned to impress his teachers by learning all the answers by heart, even if he does not understand a word out of it.

I guess mine is not the only family where you will find people with such dreams and ambitions but its there in almost every family. So many of our dreams are actually not born out of our desires but more out of our ego or some external influence. Our happiness loses its charm if we find someone else in a better situation and we start comparing ourselves and our lives with that person. I believe, I am not writing anything which is not a reality; this kind of attitude can be felt in our lives at all times. And we are a witness to that! Aren’t we?

In fact, too much influence of the western culture in the Indian society is one of the best examples of a Man becoming a mannequin of external influence and ending up losing its identity. Indian culture and values are slowly declining making a way for the western culture to creep in. Learning from other’s culture is a reflection of an open minded society where people are ready to learn. But losing our own values and adopting other’s culture is an attitude which shows the lack of confidence in one’s own identity. And that’s why, despite being so culturally rich and with beautiful landscape which is so diverse, we are still a developing nation. Our beautiful art forms whether its performing arts like dance or literature or the architecture does not receive that recognition and praise which we deserve.

India is a beautiful nation with a rich diversity when it comes to religion, landscape and culture and we must realize its importance and respect it. And so is the same with our lives as well. Instead of doing the things which people expect us to do or to merely show off, if we do those things which we truly desire, we would be able to identify ourselves in a much better way. And then, we would be definitely on the path to genuine happiness.

Starting from July, 2010, overseas people planning to migrant to Australia and choose a career in accounting will need to meet another level of requirement. The country’s three professional accounting bodies, viz. CPA Australia; the National Institute of Accountants; and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia have decided to raise the criteria pertaining to the English language assessment when it comes to people who want to immigrate to Australia and pursue a career in accounting.

CPA Australia, the National Institute of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants are gazetted by the Australian federal government as well as Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). They play an important role in immigration of overseas people to Australia. They are responsible for assessing qualifications for qualified accountants who intend to migrate, work and apply for permanent residence in Australia.

As per the new criterion required by these three bodies, accountants wishing to attain permanent residency in Australia will be needed to prove their English language proficiency along with their qualifications. They must meet the required level of efficiency in the language to be considered for the permanent status. In order to be successful in the migration process, the applicants must have an International English Language Testing Score of at least seven on each of the test’s components- speaking, reading, listening and writing.

As we have already mentioned, the new requirement will be effective from July 1, this year!

English is today recognized as a global language. When it comes to India, English has definitely become the language of the masses rather than being aloof with the classes. The Queen’s language is definitely a feather on the cap for all the Indians working in the private sector.

english-certification-test

With organizations seeking those candidates who have good and effective communication skills, learning English is definitely on the to-do list for all those who want to make it big in the corporate world.

Apart from this, many Indians go abroad to study and for employment opportunities which requires them to prove their proficiency in English language. Based on the country they choose to migrate, they would either have to appear for an IELTS or a TOEFL examination. And with majority of urban Indians who are academically qualified tend to travel abroad; it makes sense to have a local testing authority as well.

Thus, India has come up with its own English language test which has been developed similar to those of TOEFL and IELTS. The test has been formulated by the English and Foreign Language University which is established in Hyderabad. This University has formed the All India English Language Testing Authority which would be responsible for conducting the first standardized test. This test is scheduled to be held on 30th May.

Despite the fact that TOEFL and IELTS are mandatory, there are only a few who take the exam to prove their abilities in the Indian scenario or those who would want a certification to prove their skills in the Indian market.

This test would have three levels and the test takers would obtain a certificate of proficiency. The three levels are Class tenth, Graduation and Post Graduation. As of now, the agency is in the stage of discussion with the Central Board of Secondary Education or the CBSE to conduct these tests for the tenth grade graduates. This is because the students of tenth grade would no longer have to appear for a board exam starting this year. Talks are also on with the University of Cambridge which conducts similar test for assessments across the globe.

The test costs only Rs. 1500 which is not that expensive especially when compared to its other counterparts which charge as high as Rs. 8000 per test. The contents of the test would involve reading, writing, listening as well as speaking skills.

Thus, it can now be said that India is finally waking to walk with the rest of the world. It surely would give an edge to all the Indian professionals seeking great career opportunities locally.

I know how it feels when a loved one doesn’t care and leaves you alone in the midst of everything only to leave you to face the upcoming harsh circumstances alone. The sound is clearly heard – it’s the sound of “breaking a heart!” The same sound is heard when you lose a loved one, end of a relationship, or face break up, lose your favorite job/rank or other means. Perhaps, this is god’s way of telling us that life is much more than just happy moments! It is his way of giving us pain to keep us moving in life!

broken-heart

The emotion becomes so deep that it grips your heart so tightly that you feel the pain deep inside, and the noise of a broken heart can only be heard by someone who understands you more than yourself! The condition is called Broken Heart Syndrome.

The conditions may remain for a few seconds, hours, months or even years, depending upon your inner strength to come out of the crisis. In the condition of BHS, a portion of the heart grows for a moment with the efflux of stress hormones at the same time.

Now let us cross check the symptoms of a Broken Heart and see whether you too are suffering from this syndrome or not. If four out of the given symptoms are true for you, it means some one has broken your heart too. You can’t lie to your inner soul, let’s go:

  • Either you eat a lot even when you are not hungry or don’t feel like eating at all, even if your favorite dish is lying in front of you. Stomach ache is common too!
  • You just CAN’T get off your mind from thinking about that person and asking yourself continuously, why did he do this to you and WHY YOU?
  • You fail to concentrate on everything you get into, be it reading, watching TV, writing, eating or no matter what! The face of that person keeps on revolving in front of your eyes every single moment.
  • You don’t feel like getting up in the morning and continue with your routine activities. You are unaware of the timings and what’s going on around you.
  • The pain is worsening with each passing moment. You tend to feel weak within yourself.
  • Feel like crying/ confining in a dark room and sulk endlessly…
  • Trying to be “fake” in front of everyone, hiding your feelings.
  • Insomnia: you see that person in your dreams and can’t get him away from your thoughts that it leads to insomnia.
  • Absent mindedness: People would shout in your ears, but you don’t feel a pinch!
  • Depression: The most common symptom of a Broken Heart
  • Anger/Irritation: The person tends to feel irritated on every talk.
  • Feeling of loneliness surrounds you like never before. You tend to hear songs that remind you of that person or links to your situation. And every song makes you cry!
  • You are surrounded with the feeling of hopelessness and lose your self respect.
  • Thoughts of suicide often come to your mind.
  • You tend to remember moments spent with the loved one/ a feeling of nostalgia surrounds you.
  • Feel like finding out what he/she is up to at present.
  • Trying to call or message the person who broke your heart several times (just to get one single reply from the other end)
  • Constantly checking your phone/mail or voice mail to see if he/she called.
  • Endlessly rehearsing what you would talk if you bump into that person intentionally or unintentionally.
  • Don’t feel like talking or sharing with anyone

These can be some of the symptoms of a broken heart. All you need to do is take a deep breath and try to stop thinking about that person. Remove yourself from all the mutual connections that both of you have! A new world is awaiting you! Come out of the shell and MOVE ON! ;)

The FRIENDS star is 41 years of age and at this age too she holds the power to be an object of envy for girls of half of her age. According to Daily Mail, the star woman is all set to take a baby food diet and move a step further in gaining an ultimate figure! I always used to envy her for grabbing a beau like Brad Pitt, but after her break-up, delivered a sign of relief from my side. But that didn’t stop me from writing as to what the actress is up to these days.

jennifer-aniston

She has joined the list of those celebrities who have worked with personal trainer Tracy Anderson and went on to attain some of the best body shapes in the world. The latter has worked with Madonna also and now Jennifer is the latest personality to join his client list.

It has been reported that the actress has shifted 7 lbs in just 7 days, all thanks to her baby food regime, including pureed food items throughout the day and a regular dinner. It has been speculated that the star wants to tone down her look for her upcoming movie “Just Go With It.” The movie demanded her to go for a body boost.

The trainer confirmed that he provided a regime where one can still eat and the diet is decked with plenty of pure foods. He went on to say that he was immensely peculiar about taking the right kind of foods for her diet.

Anderson said that he felt the onus to come up with something especially when one includes liquid cleanses in the diet. One thing that one needs to see is that liquid cleanses assist in shredding out the weight but there is tendency to gain weight in the next week. Hence he felt the responsibility and wanted to remove toxicity in a complete manner. In addition, he was eager to bar all the bad habits while keeping the digestive system at its normal pace.

Amongst the food items which Aniston binge upon as a part of her baby food diet are fruit smoothies, peers with cinnamon (I am already feeling hungry!), pureed oatmeal (really healthy!), soups attired with dandelion greens, along with an adult dinner which normally includes vegetables and some lean meat.

After reading all this, I am feeling the urge to go on a baby diet too! What say guys? Wait a minute… What I also feel is that at the end of the day, a proper diet should be decked with ample exercise and gymming to keep the momentum going!

You may not have best of experience that is demanded by a job vacancy, but could still land it by presenting your current credentials in an appropriate manner in your “Resume” or more popularly known as “curriculum vitae”! Reason for that is very clear. It is very well known that good job positions receive hundreds and in some case thousands of resume. Thus, how does the HR get to decide whether or not to invite you for interview or next stage of the job selection process? Your resume provides the information it needs to do so.

Presenting resume in the best way possible is the trick to get the best job! It should be crafted in such a manner that the recruiter should get a perfect impression of the applicant at first glimpse, at least through his resume!

vacancy-focused-resume

Length matters: People have a habit of writing what ever they feel like in their resumes, be it their teacher’s name, their grandpa’s name, his qualification, their parental address, their background history, or what so ever! Is it what we call a Resume? Ideally, a well crafted resume should not exceed more than a page. Seriously, no recruiter is interested in skimming through oodles of pages and would surely throw your resume at first go in the dustbin!

Also a large resume means that the applicant is selling his skills, which indeed is not at all a good impression to make. So keep it SHORT AND SIMPLE!

The next tip is that DO NOT merge your irrelevant work experience in your resume. I mean if you have done freelancing in graphic designing, then what is the use of showing such experience in an Accounting Job? So cut out all irrelevant work experiences, otherwise it will cut down your chances of getting the job! It always makes sense to make required changes as per advertised vacancy and job requirements. Using one standard resume for all positions is a mistake that is best avoided. Review each vacancy requirements very carefully and then mention how your qualification and experience meets them.

The next emphasis should be laid on a Result Oriented Resume. What I mean is don’t just speak of your regular monotonous qualifications, rather boost about what extra work you have done, which have generated results for the company.

Also, don’t hesitate to mention any voluntary work which you have done in the past. For instance, mention charity work or raising funds, to name a few.

Next comes the aspect of “References.” The presence of ‘References’ indicates that your profile and character have influences, or at least liked by people around you. So References help to create a positive outlook for your profile. Best is to get references from your colleagues, immediate supervisors and HR from the companies you have been earlier associated with.

Font: Here I would like to add a funny, yet interesting facet. Some applicants decorate their resumes as if they are crafting a painting! They use all colors, every possible glitter and every available color in their resumes as if they are going to make a kid’s project out of it! Come on, it’s your resume. What is the need of usual glitters or unusual font size or color in it? Make it professional! Stick to cliché colors like Black or Dark Blue, along with regular fonts like Times New Roman or Arial.

As long as possible, try to hand-deliver your resume as it will provide you with an added advantage of getting acquainted with the company and plus you can be sure about the fact that your resume has reached the right place!

So what are you waiting for folks? Start preparing for your resume now!

How do you go about finding the right job in Australia? The question is one of the primary concerns that a majority of applicants planning to immigrate to Australia face. Read this post and solve your dilemma…

Main motives behind finding a job are better lifestyle, career options, and secure future for family, amongst others. First of all, you need to choose a job in accordance with your needs or what match your necessities! If your motive is to achieve all the above purposes, it would be beneficial to enhance your skills first and then go for the best job available in the town.

Do as much research as you can before making the final move. As far as the job markets are concerned, it has not been affected by the recent financial catastrophe to the extent of many other countries. So the country holds the capacity to craft your future in the best possible way.

It is advised to specialize your skills in more than one field to broaden your chances of getting the best job. Applicants need to sell themselves at interview! Sell your skills, flaunt your qualification, brag about your experience – but in a SUBTLE manner! The more you have of these ingredients, the more would be your income. But be realistic about everything. Trust me… Also check with the aspect of “Australian Pension Scheme;” whether the same is included in your salary package or not. Applicants showing additional qualities like having sheer knowledge on process analysis, business development, business profit, cost-cutting and other such facets would hold an added advantage over others.

Additionally, Australia is equipped with plenty of opportunities in thousands of fields, be it Chartered Accountancy, IT professionals, Engineering, Sales, Writing, including many others. Last, but definitely not the least – have an up-to-date resume and target the same towards the Oz Market. Don’t keep it too short or too lengthy. Just consult an Immigration specialist and know further.
