MINNEAPOLIS: According to an advocacy group, fifty Latino employees working at various Chipotle restaurants lost their employments after various audits performed by the federal government. Reports say that the inspections are done to make sure that the workers are working in a legal manner in the United States.
According to Brad Sigal, who is an associate with Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee has confirmed that almost fifty members have faced termination, courtesy the investigation process commenced by the government. The Committee is against the current immigration regulations and laws which are enforced in the nation at present.
He went on to say that the audits happened for a week, and may continue further too. Applauding it as a “statewide effort,” Brad confirmed that the workers from various parts including downtown Minneapolis, Coon Rapids, Hudson and Grand Avenue in St. Paul would be affected from the audits.
Chipotle at present functions fifty corporate-owned Mexican fast-casual restaurants in Minnesota itself it approved getting a request asking for the records of all the workers working in the chain. It has been confirmed by the same that the records were asked by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
The company affirmed that full corporation has been given to the Immigration officials regarding the documents they required for the same.
