Canadian Government Immigration Plan Annual Report!

Recently Canadian Immigration minister Jason Kenney presented his Annual Report in the Parliament. He stated that contrary to what other countries are doing; Canada is continuously maintaining its intake of immigrants in order to maintain its economic growth. According to Kenney, the country intends to welcome around 265,000 new PR holders in the year 2010 as the motto is to strengthen Canadian economy in a major way.

Canada and the provinces would collaborate together in order to ensure that the advantages of Immigration are distributed equally across the country. Also, people who are planning to immigrate under the Federal Skilled Worker Program may expect to get an early decision, elaborated Kenney.  The backlog of the applicants under the same category has also been deducted by more than 30%. The backlog is comprised of all those applicants who applied before the commencement of the Action Plan that is February 27, 2008.

Kenney said that now the authorities are processing those applications that clear the eligibility criteria, specific procedures are in progress to reduce this backlog. Making amendments in the Federal Skilled Worker Program is an integral part of Canadian’s government commitment in enhancing the country’s economic growth further.

If you are planning to move to Canada, a better decision would be to consult an Immigration guide and move ahead.
