According to a recent report, under the Provincial Nominee Program, British Columbia is expected to witness over 5000 immigrants obtaining permanent residency in the year of 2012.
A source revealed that till 2008, there had been demand for skilled workers in British Columbia, however, at present, there is need for immigrants with subjects like: physics, math and engineering background.
In the year of 2012, the numbers immigrants to Canada as permanent residents are expected to be up to 45,000 via PNP programs, among about 250,000 overall immigrants.
Provincial Nominee Programs are meant to provide more power to the Canadian provinces for choosing the immigrants for Canada permanent residency and encouraging the immigrants who have the required skills to settle down more diversely across the country.
When it comes to the economic status of British Columbia, traditionally the financial condition of this province has been dominated by its natural resources.
