NZ Introduces New IT Immigration System

A report suggests that the Immigration Minister of New Zealand, Jonathan Coleman, has declared that Wellington has introduced a new system of immigration, and this will speed-up the visa application process of the applicants inspiring them to go online more for the said purpose.

The said report also reveals that during the mid 2015, the execution of the Immigration Global Management System or the IGMS will be accomplished, with the initial changes being launched during 2013.

The applicants for the New Zealand Visas will have a different experience this time around, as they will be provided with their own separate immigration accounts online. This will give them the facility to enter all their essential information in detail online and track the progress of their application process.

In this connection, Mr Coleman added that the decision of the Government to invest $75 million in the new IT system of immigration is a very vital step towards contributing to the growth of the nation’s economy, through immigration. This initiative will also provide secure, responsive and timely services to the immigration applicants.

Wellington is planning to attract more skilled personnel even as the introduction of this new immigration system will help in the quick processing of those visa applications.

The existing IT system is quite old, about 15 years, and it has reached the end of its technical duration. Moreover, a simple change in the existing system would cost quite a high amount of money and it can’t be maintained for long.

The introduction of the new Immigration Global Management System will provide with an active system, which will enable more online processing and automation of simple jobs for employers and clients. Moreover, through this system, the INZ offices across the world will be able to access all the necessary data.

This new system will provide biometric facility that will help improve the identity management and give better security. The IGMS implementation is scheduled to start during the early 2012.
