US Immigrant Detention System against Federal Rules, Allege Critics

Some immigration critics in the United States have claimed that the present arrangement of immigrant confinement of the nation is seriously flawed even as the latest detention facility at New Jersey is a shining example of the federal reforms having failed badly.

A report in this connection talks about the not too good conditions at a detention facility located at the Essex County as symbolic of serious issues with the involved system of immigration detention across the country. The said report concludes that irrespective of the stress put by the US President — on improving the system of civil custody – the immigration facilities offered at certain places including the Essex County badly fail to cater to the set national standards of detention meant for migrants.

Meanwhile, a concerned person was quoted as saying that this discovery was just one of the many indications of what was actually taking place. He added that the situation at the NJ was really worrying even as over 200 detainee complaints had emerged from the so-called improved detention facility.

He continued that the federal immigration officials had flaunted a fresh deal to further enlarge the bed space meant for detention at the New York metropolitan zone, besides another facility introduced at the Karnes City, Texas, as comparatively more humane, reform-minded facilities when the fact remained that the new facility was hardly a shining example of improved and caring detention facility.

Contesting such claims, however, a concerned person has claimed that the new facilities offer secure, humane and wonderful lodgings. He added that these also offer the detainees the opportunities to easily contact their near & dear ones from their families and immigration attorneys. He continued that the said facility is not only duly recognized but has also received an excellent rating of 100% from the concerned body of the nation.

The migrants put under compulsory detention are categorized as civil and not criminal captives and since too long many champions have claimed that most of them pose no risks even while they do not require to be kept in confinement to act in accordance with court-related commitments or orders that involve deportations from the US.
