Australia to form Skilled Migration Advisory Council

Australia is all set to form Ministry Advisory Council on Skilled Migration (MACSM) to offer the government with important suggestion in regard of role and responsibility of skilled migration in country’s economic development – revealed by Chris Bowen, Australian Immigration Minister.

“Skilled migrationhas certainly a great role in Australia economy and also in addressing skill shortage covering both current and future prospects. It also helps in lessening the impact of Australia’s ageing population and supports us to address these issues in the best possible way.”

The new MACSM is meant to provide an effective advice to the government – aiming to boost the migration policies and programs.

Bowen further revealed about various aspects of the MACSM and cleared that the council has been constituted by including members from different backgrounds. Such members are fully specialized in assessing the thing by considering several elements and have been selected on the base of their professional expertise and relevant work experience.

The council members will be concerned for offering their best advice to the minister of citizenship and immigration Australia by focusing on various issues like assessing the impact of skilled migration on country’s economy, formation of annual migration program and skilled migrations’ contribution to net overseas migration.

It is anticipated that the MACSM will play same role as UK Migration Advisory Committee – the council, however, expected to be more pro-immigration that the UK advisory committee. In addition, every state will be presented by its own member who will be nominated by state’s Chief Minister.
