Australia Requires More Health Workers, A Report

A report containing 450 pages unveiled the requirements of healthcare professional in Australia in the coming days. It claims that the country will need more doctors and nurses to fill the requirements in the healthcare sector over the coming decade.

The report predicts that Australia will face a major shortage of 109, 00 nurses in mental health and aged care, and approx 2,700 doctors such as general practitioners, radiologists, pathologists and more, by the year of 2025.

Mark Cormack, Chief Executive of Health Workforce Australia, says that shortage of healthcare professionals has been mainly observed in the remote areas of Western Australia, Queensland, and Northern Territory.

The Australian government however showed a great endeavor towards luring more health workers to immigrate to the commonwealth of Australia. To encourage such professionals, the government has also decided to offer the highest compensation and wonderful working conditions.

The general manager of a renowned Australian medical company Triple0, Andrew Arps, said that Western Australia and Northern Territory cajoles doctors and other health workers by providing the highest salary package.

Those who are graduate professional without any specialization can get opportunity to earn nearly $100,000 every year. On the contrary, those who are specialized have privilege to earn up to $400,000 per year. In addition, the registered nurses are also pampered by offering great earning up to $78,000 annually.

Each Australian province has its own measure to encourage and accommodate such professionals to fill the requirements. Christine Curphey, Director of Healthcare Recruitment agency Randstad, said that Australia has become the top choice for getting job for such healthcare professionals, for providing appropriate employment conditions as compared to other countries. The country provides more job benefits that include subsidized education, travel allowance, additional leave, relocation assistance and many more.

Moreover, Health Workforce Australia also provided an important suggestion of simplifying the visa process, in order to captivate more overseas nurses and doctors to get the job in the country.
