Relax Permit Rules For Trained Overseas Workers, Urges British Research Organization

According to certain reports, a top research organization–believed to be close to the ruling British Conservative Party–is keen that the incumbent UK Government makes the rules involving immigration comparatively less stringent, to make it much easier for the nation’s many enterprising digital firms to hire qualified manpower from across the globe.

The research organization in question says that although Great Britain has vast potential to emerge a leading player in the high-tech & digital economy, it is not really easy for the British business groups to locate very qualified employees, such as the coders and the designers.

The research done by the said think-tank is keen that the UK legislators get inspired and take valuable lessons from the US–more so California, which houses close to 50% of the globe’s leading 100 digital associations, and make immigration rules less demanding.

Seemingly, one of its key recommendations is to restore the two-year post-study permit which made it possible for the Indian students and the students from other nations of the non-EU region to do a job for 2 years, post concluding their studies. The permit–which enjoyed high popularity earlier and was well accepted by the students from India–was cancelled in the month of April this year.

The report favors the UK administration to relax the requirements for permit for trained immigrants, to allow start-up groups, from the digital domain, to engage the trained manpower for a probationary period of 2 years, minus any requirements whatsoever to give a high up-front wages.

Meanwhile, the person behind the report brought out by the said think-tank reportedly disclosed that the British Prime Minister was correct when he observed that he is keen that London becomes the best destination across the globe to establish, manage, and develop a high-tech firm.

He further said that the businesses require being in a position to get the right persons for their needs rather quickly, and not waste many precious months attempting to increase the strength of their technology groups. He continued that given this background–the requirement for making it comparatively easier for the British associations to hire trained overseas graduates–becomes crucial.

He added that some enterprising overseas entrepreneurs are behind the establishment of certain big global firms, such as YouTube & Intel. He continued that these and some other organizations founded, or co-founded, by such entrepreneurs are presently renowned business groups with a good presence across the globe.
