New Zealand Faces Excessive Population Fall

Statistics New Zealand, a government run organization and concerned about providing data regarding country’s population, conducted a survey and found that a major population fall in the current year. Data provided by the department clearly presented an exact figure of 3,300 (of population fall), majorly affected by immigration.

The New Zealanders’ desires of migration, mainly to Australia, became a major cause of shrinking population in the country. As of statistics, over 53,700 people migrated to Australia from New Zealand in September 2012. But, only 14,200 New Zealanders returned back to the country to stay permanently.

New Zealand however witnessed a major growth of migrants on its own soil; mainly from three prominent countries include India, China and the United Kingdom. Statistics made it clear that the total number of 5,000, 5,200 and 5,500 migrants travelled to New Zealand from India, China and the UK respectively.

With the total population of 4,433,100 of New Zealand – 2,389,000, out of these, work on the gross wage of NZ$1,013.09 weekly. Being economically strong and highly developed, New Zealand also witnessed a major progress by 0.6 percent to NZ$203bn in the month of September this year.

Moreover, the statistics also presented the actual data of visitors and reflected over a million of Australian visitors who visited the country. Besides, 198,400 and 186,800 visitors came from the UK China and Australia respectively.
