Protracted Wait for American Green Cards May End

The dilemma of a large number of employees –born overseas & educated in the US, and presently involved with the heart of the US tech industry—continues. This is apparently due to the fact that although they are not battling against poverty, and/or living on the margins, the fact remains that they happen to be migrant workers, whose presence in the country in anything but lawful. However, they are allegedly in an administrative indeterminate state even as they cool their heels for permanent residency status in the US, and get a Green Card.

Apparently, the US Congress though is now about to bring to an end their insecurity. As per as certain fresh reports, the concerned US body has sanctioned a broad improvement of the country’s immigration legislation on a bipartisan vote, and has sent across the measure to the Senate, for further action. The legislation would make it comparatively easier for the Engineering, Science, & Math graduates of the many American universities to get the prized Green Card, and acquire the nation’s permanent residency status.

Significantly, the move is likely to also remove the restrictions placed on the number of the aliens given entrance from a nation, which hitherto has meant that the nationals of certain populous nations, such as India, end up cooling their heels far longer, as compared to others. Allegedly, the provisions to make the procedure for Green Card easier have bipartisan backing depicting a stark truth: close to 50% of all engineering graduate students at the American universities are from outside.

Further, it is believed that certain technology organizations; for instance, Microsoft & Facebook, wish to employ several more such workers, even as this is the main factor why they have actively left no stones unturned whatsoever to make it earlier for them (the workers) to pocket Green Card & the permanent residency status.
