UK Entrepreneur Visa: A Brief Summary

The UK, or Great Britain, is a world famous immigration destination. It’s a rather friendly and affluent nation; in fact, one of the most developed countries across the globe. There are many gateways of exploring this Island Country through different easy-to-follow visa paths, with UK Entrepreneur Visa Scheme being one such path. Meant for those eager to do business in the country, it offers the aspirants the Tier 1 Permits.

This visa opens the gateway to permanent settlement in the country for the candidates and his spouse and dependents. It also offers the freedom of obtaining education, employment opportunities, and health facilities in the nation. The holders of this visa are restricted from working under any single employer; the mandatory requirement is that he has to set up his own business or should be a self employed.

It’s issued for 3 years and 4 months for outsiders while the 5 years visa is issued to those who have applied with in the country. On successful completion of this time period, the validity period of the permit can be extended further.

Visa Requirements

For obtaining the UK Entrepreneur Visa, the applicant should have enough money in his account, approximately 200000 British pounds. The foremost necessity for this visa is that that the applicant should be a registered director of the company or self-employed for not less than 3 months before submitting the visa application.

Another requirement of this permit is that the candidate should provide contracts, advertisement and other documents to provide evidence of the business which he wishes to run in the country. The aspirant is also expected to meet the necessity of English language at the Level B1 of the CEFR. The aspiring migrant has to maintain 3100 Pounds for 30 days. For outsiders, it’s 900 Pounds.

The visa is based on point system and gaining 95 points is mandatory. Points are further divided into different heads. While 10 points are assigned for the knowledge of English language, 10 points are given for maintenance, and 20 points for the investment of 200000 pounds. The applicant registered as the director or self employed grabs 20 points for the same. He is also eligible to gain another 20 points if he has created jobs for at least two people already settled in UK.

An entrepreneur can form up his own team and share the invested money. He can also borrow the money from a bank and is also eligible to use his spouse’s money, if the other person does not have any problems with it. When all the necessary requirements have been satisfactorily met, the validity period of the visa can be extended further.
