Like Global and Professional Investor visa categories, this category also requires you to fulfill a few requirements. The Immigration New Zealand has set a number of prerequisites that applicants would require to meet them in order to obtain a General (Active) Investor visa.
To be eligible to immigrate to New Zealand and contribute to the country’s economy, you must be 54-year-old or younger. If you are the principal applicant, then you are required to have an amount of NZ$ 2.5 million to invest in New Zealand. In addition, you must have a settlement fund of NZ$1 million.
Apart, general requirements like English language, character and health standards are also set by the Immigration New Zealand for General Investor Visa category. If you are going to be accompanied by your partner and children who aged 16 or more, then they too will be required to meet English language requirements. However, there is a provision where the applicant may pay for English tuition of his dependents and they will be granted visa as part of his application.
Once your residence is approved by the Immigration New Zealand, you must invest the funds in an acceptable investment in New Zealand for 4 years. You, as the principal applicant will need to spend 146 days in the Kiwi land during the second, third and fourth years of the four-year long investment period each.
With the General (Active) Investor Visa, you will be provided with conditional permanent residence in New Zealand. When you meet all the requirements, such as the investment of the funds and spending 146 days annually in New Zealand, you will be provided with unconditional permanent residence permit!
