Skilled Immigrants Recruited in 50 Occupations Ahead of ‘Express Entry’

As per a report, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has publically stated that ahead of ‘Express Entry’, skilled immigrants have been recruited in 50 occupations under the nation’s highly popular and extensively used point based Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP).

Since the beginning of the program, prospective immigrants were excited and quite eager to process their application. The scheme came in force from May 1, 2014. While certain aspects of the scheme remained unchanged, a few important changes were made this year.

For instance, the number of professions was increased from only 15 to 50. Upper limit or the cap put on the number of petitions to be accepted was also changed and increased to 1000 per eligible occupation. Earlier, the number stood at just 300. These two changes made the scheme all the more accepted.

Many of the applicants, who had failed to make the cut and could find acceptance earlier can file a petition again, provided; of course, if they meet the criteria ahead of Express Entry that officially becomes effective from the next year.
