In an attempt to address problems like rough sleeping, poverty and various anti-social behaviors, the concerned bodies, including UK Border Agency have come to the point European nationals (from member countries of EU) who cannot support themselves or do not have jobs will face deportation from the UK. In other words, if migrants are living a rough life due to lack of job, they can no more live in Britain.
These deprived migrants are not covered by the EU rules on their right to free movement. According to the rules, citizens can stay in any EU member state for up to 3 months, but beyond this period they must find some source, either by working or studying to support themselves if they have to stay further in the state. Jobless migrants are not meant to the burden on the state!
When people start a rough sleeping life, they gradually develop serious health problems. Peterborough in Cambridgeshire is one of those cities known for squatting migrants. Recently, about 25 homeless migrants were warned removal from the city. Many of those migrants are Eastern Europeans.
According to many homeowners in Peterborough, poor and unfortunate migrants have found there home in gardens. Many also build tree houses on private properties. As per the city’s officials, a considerable percentage of rough sleeping migrants come from the member countries of the European Union.
The move came out as an attempt to help the rough sleepers figure out how they can enhance their life. Many believe that the UK government has not been able to address this problem for long because of the effective economic policies.
