📌 Australia and India come a step closer with the announcement of the MATES program, a part of the Australia-India Migration and Mobility Partnership Arrangement (MMPA)
📌 On May 14, the government of Australia, while announcing the federal budget, introduced the Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-Professional Scheme (MATES) for talented Indians.
📌 The MATES will come into force from November 1 for Indian graduates.
📌 Under the scheme, Indian students with skills in shortage occupations can reside in Australia for two years.
📌 The MATES is open to students from a wide range of fields, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence, mining, information and communication technology, engineering, AI, etc.
The scheme will grant 3,000 visas to Indian early career professionals.
📌 Eligibility include:
📍 Students must be aged between 18 and 30 years
📍 Have not previously participated in the MATES scheme
📍Demonstrate English language skills
📍Must be a recent graduate from an Australian university
📍 Hold a bachelor’s degree in their field.
