In an attempt to enhance the relationships with its neighboring nation Bangladesh, Indian government has confirmed that it would make the visa regulations easier for the nationals of Bangladesh.
According to Indian Minister P Chidambaram, the government has come out with proposals related to making the procedure linked to granting conference visa to the nationals of Bangladesh flexible for them.
He went on to confirm that the applicants for whom the visas would be relaxed may constitute those professionals who come to India on a regular basis and stay for longer durations, in addition to the exceptional cases.
The minister confirmed that India would also ease out the visa regulations on the basis of medical grounds. He also denied to the speculations that Indian would come out with a plan to announce a unilateral no-fire zone between the borders of the two countries.
He spoke on the issue of mutual relationships between both the countries till now, saying that the relations between the nations have enhanced in a major way since the last few years. But there are still some un-demarcated areas which need sheer importance. Hence, progress is going on in an attempt to resolve these facets.
Discussing about the issue of illegal immigration, he stated that it is a grave problem. But the government is making plans to cater to the issue.
Certainly, strong steps are on the cards, as far as the Indian government is concerned.
