Hairdresser and Cooks – Cropped from Australia Migration List!

Overseas applicants who were intending to chose hairdressing and cookery as their occupations in Australia have a reason to worry now. Immigration minister Chris Evans has come out with major changes in the Australian immigration policy, according to which occupations like hairdressing and cookery has been removed from the occupation list, leaving the applicants related with same professions with hardly any options.

The motto behind the curb is to slow down the number of overseas applicants who intend to acquire Permanent Residency status through low-value vocational courses.

The minister confirmed that cropping these courses would allow the country to bringing those workers which it requires instead of being commanded by few applicants doing particular courses. The move would put a bounder line on people intending to gain permanent residency in Australia through these short term courses.

The minister said that the move would enhance the skill migration programme of the country, hence allowing the economy to adjust those workers which are required by it. He further commented that the previous list did not cater to the aspects of long term requirements, hence leading to the current situation. Also, the past witnessed the domination of education system rather than skills required to enhance the immigration aspect.

Also, the amendments would ensure that overseas applicants intending to immigrate to the country have the required skills, proficiency in the English language and get employment in their skilled area. Also, the new immigration programme would be driven by demand and not supply!
