Various reports repeatedly say that when it comes to illegal immigration, South Asians dominate the quantity traveling to Hong Kong in a major way. Keeping the situation in mind, the administration of the country has recommended the prospective Indian applicants not to be misguided by fake immigration agents and enter the country on a legal basis with proper documentation.

Stats say that since the year 2007, more than one thousand and five hundred Indian immigrants have been caught breaching the rules of the country, hence overstaying their regular limits. Some of them were caught to be involved in illegal employments without having the much needed documents of working in Hong Kong.

According to Corrado Chow from Hong Kong Immigration, he wanted to take this chance to let all the Indian immigrants know that they should never allow themselves to be misled or cheated by fake agents and if they are willing to come and get employed in Hong Kong, they should get legal documents with them.

Chow confirmed that a majority of undocumented workers are involved in manual labor and are employed in rural premises. On his visit towards achieving this goal, he will visit major sources of illegal immigrants including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

According to Chow, these illegal immigrants should be removed, but somehow, they are still continuing their stay in the country, courtesy their claims to stay in the country, which are being processed. He said that he is not targeting any nation, but illegal immigration needs to curb down. Under the new amendment, no overseas applicant could be employed until and unless he or she produces proper documents. At the same time, the authorities have ensured that it would continue providing facilities to authentic applicants.
