Along with introducing an annual limit on immigrants from outside the European Union economies, the new UK Coalition Government is going to make a lot of changes to its various policies. Let’s have a look at the possible changes:
- An Emergency Budget will be released very soon in order to reduce the country’s annual budget by £6 billion. The country’s current budget deficit is about £160 billion.
- From April 2011, the government is intending to have substantial rise in income tax allowances for lowest paid. In other words, some poor or lowest paid workers will need to pay less tax.
- In order to reduce class sizes for poor children, the government will spend more in educational investment.
- There will be a poll for Alternative Vote system for General elections.
- From the next Election, which is slated to take place in May 2015, there will be fixed-term Parliaments. In addition, fifty-five percent of the MPs will be required for the dissolution of Parliament and to have another election.
- The National Health Service will gain more funding each year with the start of the new Parliament.
- ID cards will completely be eliminated. No one, including overseas immigrants will have to use the cards in the United Kingdom.
- The public sector pension scheme will be revised.
- Moreover, 2011 will see revival of the connection between state pension and earnings.
- A plane tax would replace Aviation Passenger Duty.
- Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted would not see any new runways in the future.
