New Cities in Queensland!

Well, this is what we call a great idea and this would prove Australia once again as the ever-welcoming country when it comes to immigrants. The report come across as a good news for immigrants which says that one of Australia’s most popular immigration destinations, Queensland is considering establishment of 3 all-new cities. Reason behind the state’s novel idea is the increasing number of immigrants in the country. Three more cities in the state will help house the increasing number of migrants.

Queensland is planning to build the cities within its boundary to deal with the population growth in the state. The state has always been a popular immigration destination for overseas people. According to reports, the state has plans to establish the cities in its southwest direction. They are expected to stand on 3 Greenfield areas of the state. The cities are likely to house near about 250,000 inhabitants. The new cities would be named as Ripley Valley, Greater Flagstone and Yarrabilba, if reports are to be believed.

The process of building the new cities in Queensland is expected to begin in 2011. While the idea of building cities seems appealing to many, the country’s environmental agencies are not in favor of the idea. They fear that the development on Greenfield sites would probably have impact on the environment. Reportedly, the  plans go against the Southeast Queensland Regional Plan, which advocates that new home should be built in the existing suburbs, instead of building new cities!
