The Government of Australia has brought out the ANZSCO list which enlists all the occupations where in there is a short of skilled labor for the nation to contribute to the specific industry. The ANZSCO list consists of two sub-lists known as Schedule 3 and Schedule 4.
Those occupations which are present in Schedule 3 have to be applied for via the General Skilled Migrant program where as those in Schedule 4 through the Sponsored (State Nomination/Blood Relation) or under Regional Programs. In case of the occupation of electronics engineer, it falls in both the above lists which give the applicant a choice to apply via either of the two.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- To design various electronic components, industrial applications, computer circuits and systems and communication and control systems.
- Monitoring the computer installation and commissioning, communication and control systems and to cater to appropriate control and protection methods.
- Based on either optical fibre, wireless communication media or the wired ones, designing communication bearers.
- Determining and supervising the performance as well as standards pertaining to safety and for procedures related to operations, maintenance, modifications as well as repair of these systems.
- Design, develop and execute signal processing algorithms by selecting proper hardware and software.
Apart from the above, there are additional responsibilities which the professional would be expected to perform.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher education.
- In some cases, both qualification as well as relevant experience is required to qualify for the same.
- On the job training might be required in specific cases.
