Australia is one of the developed nations in the world which hires many foreign skilled professionals to cater to its economy. In order to go about this, the Australian government has brought out the ANZSCO list which caters to all the occupations short of labor in the nation.

The ANZSCO list consists of two lists- Schedule 3 and Schedule 4. If your occupation falls in Schedule 3, the applicant can apply for the same through the General Skilled Migrant program. However, if it is mentioned under Schedule 4, it has to be applied via the Sponsored (State Nomination/Blood Relation) or under Regional Programs. In both the cases, the applicant has to score a maximum of 120 points in order to qualify. The occupation of Industrial Engineer falls in both the above lists which give an applicant the choice to apply under either of the categories.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Chalking out programs pertaining to work measurement as well as analyzing samples of work to plan standards related to the utilization of labor.
  • Examining the organizational charts, financial statements and cater to information related to functions and duties of workers and recognize the duplication areas.
  • Studying the operational data, workforce utilization, production schedules, and costs for the optimum worker and the efficiency of each equipment.
  • Carrying out inspections to cater to optimum performance in the plant.
  • Designing machines, manufacturing products, mechanical equipment etc.

Apart from the above, there are additional responsibilities which the professional would be expected to perform.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher education.
  • In some cases, both qualification as well as relevant experience is required to qualify for the same.
  • On the job training might be required in specific cases.
