Govt. Confirmed Job Visas Only For Highly Skilled, Salaried Foreigners!

Indian government has confirmed that overseas citizens with highly skilled backgrounds would be taken in by the Indian firms and should take a salary of above USD 25,000 on an annual basis.

This step is taken to bar overseas people from indulging themselves into non-technical jobs. The income aspect is not applicable for ethnic cooks, teachers who teach various languages, barring English, people who are employed as staff with Embassy/High Commission concerned in India.

In the same memorandum, the Home Ministry abolished a circular by the Labour Ministry that grants 1% overseas people from the total people in any given work force having at east 5 and till the extent of twenty employees working.

The official statement from the Home Ministry states that an overseas applicant may be granted an employment visa is he is decked with highly qualified skills and has being recruited by a given Indian firm on employment or contract basis.

In addition to this, it was decided that employment visa would not be given for employment opportunities for which the company has ample Indian citizens who are qualified for a particular job. Also, the visa is strictly prohibited for regular jobs like secretarial/ clerical posts.

Also, it has been affirmed that the visa applications can face clearance by the Indian missions which are located overseas only if the overseas applicant applying for visa has all the skills and mandatory experience, technical experts, serving at senior levels and the skills which has shortage in India.
