Recently, Forbes has come out with world’s happiest cities. The survey was conducted by the Policy Advisor – Simon Anholt and Market Researcher GfK Custom Research North America and I would like to inform my readers about the same via this blog of mine. Here goes the list…
Rio de Janeiro tops the chart with its carnival mood, serene settings, music and wonderful beaches. Anholt elaborated that Carnival is the image of happiness and Brazil holds a deep association with it.
Next on the list is Sydney with its amazing beaches, incredible weather and applauded attractions. The image of people sitting around barbecues is what makes Sydney a wonderful and one of the happiest cities in the world, thinks Anholt.
Barcelona, Spain managed to grab the third position and Amsterdam, Netherlands took the fourth place on Anholt’s list. Another Australian city Melbourne snatched the fifth position, simply because it’s in Australia (that’s what Anholt feels, after all it’s his survey!).
The survey was compiled through a series of interviews that were conducted online in twenty different countries. Anholt feels that it is just a survey of PERCEPTION and not of REALITY! Contrary to the survey, he rather feels that Spain is gloomy; still the city has plenty of supporters.
