5000 Job Cuts to be enforced in UK Border Agency!

The removal of five thousand jobs by the UK Border Agency has brought concerns regarding their ability to implement the laws pertaining to immigration. These jobs cuts were brought about in the resources related to UK immigration. The announcement was brought about after Lin Homer, the Chief Executive disclosed there has been an increase in the total number of asylum seekers being accepted.

Homer also brought out that these five thousand jobs would be cut out in the coming four years. This came about while he answered to the UK Home Affairs Committee. More so, with the 1700 jobs which have already been cut down in 2010, the current move would cater to a reduction of workforce by twenty percent from a total of 24,000.

It was also brought about that over 30,000 more asylum seekers have been accepted for a UK visa. This figure is an increase by another four percent for the period between July and September.

Gerard Batten, the UK Independence Party MEP has disapproved of the cuts. He claimed that more asylum seekers clearly projects the UK Border Agency is finding it difficult to deport undocumented migrants. The money which seems to be saved would actually be spent on public services which would be used by the additional migrants.

The above seems more like a case where the asylum seekers are being preferred over the local employees working in the UK Border Agency. Illegal migration is an issue of major concern which has been under debate for a while now. At the same time, the current cap on immigration which has been brought about by the current coalition government has also brought mixed responses within the nation.
