The news about a ‘50-year Australian Immigration Plan’ is all over the Immigration world. It’s been a while now that officials are planning to come out with an Immigration plan that would guarantee a more rounded and visionary advent, confirms Andrew Metcalfe, who is the Secretary of Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
The plan would further take care of long term issues like national security, water needs, to name a few, with respect to Australia’s own migrating needs. It’s a 50-year vision, just similar to a long-term planning framework, said Mr. Andrew.
He further clarified that a well-planned immigration plan would not only help in the overall enhancement of the Australian economy but also contribute to the country’s environmental goals. He said that there are certain issues that can not be solved through domestic training and skills development.
According to Mr. Andrew, the skilled migration programs would not only respond to the concerned issues but also address the labour market requirements like labour force growth and the overall productivity.
The review would further include an examination of the MODL (the Migration Occupations in Demand List), which according to Mr. Andrew is not flexible in accordance with the uncertain global environment.
The immigration world is filled with all kinds of news and updates that it has become almost impossible for an applicant to stay abreast with the recent changes. Just consult an Immigration and Visa expert and stay ahead with the pace of life.
