Dagupan City: In accordance with the reports from the Bureau of Immigration, the low-cost education in the province may be one of the reasons as to why thousand and thousands of overseas applicants flock in Pangasinan in Philippines.

Alberto Garcia, who is an Alien Control Officer of Pangasinan bureau, stated that overseas applicants from all over the world come here to enroll themselves in various educational institutions. The main purpose as to why this place is chosen as a prospective country to immigrate is due to its low-cost education and the cheap lodging options it offers to the prospective applicants as compared to other places.

He went on to say that a majority of overseas applicants in the elementary and high school level belong to Korea, as they enroll themselves in various English language schools in the province.

As far as the high levels including college studies and tertiary level, a majority of applicants are Nepalese, Sudanists, Britons and people from America.

Alberto further confirmed that the Bureau aids overseas applicants who are decked with Permanent residence visa, temporary visa, 9F or study visa and the ones having dual citizenships.

He further clarified that overseas people who come to the country do not have the freedom to make investments in real properties like lands in the Philippines. As far as exceptions are concerned, they are allowed to invest in the land only when the overseas applicant builds a corporation and the purchased property is named after the firm.
