The Immigration officials have confirmed that apart from paying a heavy fine of US$2,000 for each passenger carrying undocumented status in the country, it would be the duty of the concerned airline to pay all the cost related with the accommodation, maintenance and deportation of each passenger found illegal in the nation and coming through the same.

According to Evans Siziba, who is the spokesman from the Immigration department, the step has been taken after witnessing an increased number of illegal immigrants coming in from various nations including Bangladesh, China, Nigeria, and Ethiopia
