Indian Farmers Invited to Apply in Ethiopia!

According to Mehreteab Mulugeta, the Minister Councilor (II) for Economic and Business in Ethiopia, when it comes to trade and investment, the nation has a lot of scope. He claimed the above while he participated in the Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX) 2010. He stated that this event has been very fruitful as it assisted them to bring out the various opportunities and possibilities to increase bilateral trade between both the nations. This is specifically for the northern states of Haryana and Punjab.

He also said that as agrarian states, his nation is seeking to benefit from the agricultural techniques as well as the latest technology being implemented by these states. When it comes to agriculture, Ethiopia offers numerous opportunities. With surplus availability of land, the government of the nation caters to many facilities for the farmers from India intending to going to Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian government has brought about a land bank functioning under the ministry of agriculture. 1.7 million hectares of land has been separately catered under the foreign direct investment policy. This would be given on a lease for a duration ranging from 25 to 45 years. With this, a tax holiday up to 7 years would also be facilitated to those investing in this land in Ethiopia.

Those exporting about 75 percent of their produce would qualify for a loan catering to about 70 percent of the entire project from the local banks. Wheat, rice, vegetables and oil seeds along with tea and coffee are main produce in the nation. So, all the farmers and agricultural workers have loads of opportunities to invest or work in the Ethiopia.
