The Ethiopian government has brought about a land bank functioning under the ministry of agriculture. 1.7 million hectares of land has been separately catered under the foreign direct investment policy. This would be given on a lease for a duration ranging from 25 to 45 years. With this, a tax holiday up to 7 years would also be facilitated to those investing in this land in Ethiopia.

Those exporting about 75 percent of their produce would qualify for a loan catering to about 70 percent of the entire project from the local banks.
