Canadian Border Guards Stop Joint Operations!

Canada: In sudden news, the officials of the Canadian Border Service Agency have stopped all the joint operations with the officials of Canadian police force all over the country on a permanent basis.

The declaration came in the form of a written statement on late Christmas Eve where the managers of CBSA annunciated the news. Reports have confirmed that the declaration was followed by a long-term dispute going on with the four thousand and eight hundred-member Customs and Immigration Union over the issue of arming the custom officers during the joint operations.

Reports say that the move announced by the Canadian Border Service Agency, mentioned ‘munch in budget’ along with various issues linked with “gaps in officer’s powers and protections.”

The union which is representing customs’ agents stated that the announcement from the side of the CBSA to curb down its participation in supporting other police officials all over the nation lifts safety issues.

The Customs and Immigration Union’s Vice President has stated that it would mean less raids, less arrests, hence a curb down in security measures too. Jean-Pierre Fortin said that the step would create a sudden impact on the aspect of “security.”

Raids performed by CBSA bureaucrats as well as the officials of police force were promoted as a successful step to curb down the aspect of good smuggling going on all over the border in an illegal manner.

Fortin went on to say that they are decked with an expertise which the police officials don’t have – a reason why the police forces come to them for further assistance. Still, reports say that as far as the joint raids are concerned, the border agents have been at loggerheads since so many times on the issue whether they should be armed.

If reports are to be believed, the CSBA is fastened at the judgment to decline the call for carrying guns.
