Australia Immigration Backlog, Still Skills Needed!

Reports say that almost one lakh forty thousand applicants for the category of “Skilled Migration” are facing backlog to Australia. According to experts, despite having backlogs, the country is still in need of more skilled workers. Herald Sun has reported that the nation is facing a scarcity of looming skills as well as a wages breakout determined by a revival economy.

The offline media in Australia is pointing out their concerns about the interruption in processing times for the applications as well as the shortage which the country is facing for more skilled workers.

According to Graham Kraehe, who is the director of Reserve Bank, the situation demands an increase in the number of skilled workers working in the country. He further went on to say that if the amount of skilled workers is not enhanced in the country, the country is soon going to face high pressure on wages.

Two things need to be taken care of. One is to takes steps which would lead to an enhanced productivity, a facet which is lacking behind since the past three or four years. The second aspect is to take care of the skilled workers in Australia and increase their quotas so that the demand can be met in a proper manner.

Richard Goyder, who is the Chief Executive at Wesfarmers, the shortage of skilled workers faced by the country has been closely monitored by him and he is keeping a close eye on the situation.
