Thus the people need to check the annual update of skilled occupation list. This is a list which is updates by the Australian government every year as per the needs of the labor market in Australia. The list of occupation is updated every year for the better future of the country. The country knows that there are many skilled occupants but it can only have those which fit in the country as per the needs.

The annual update of skilled occupation list which is effective from 1st July 2011 includes 13 more occupations and has removed the 4 occupations. The four occupations which have been removed from the list are optometrist, vehicle painter, panel beater and orthoptist. Few of the 13 occupations which have been added in the list are barrister, solicitor, medical physicist, retail pharmacists, hospital pharmacists and shipwright.

One should understand that the Australian government is continuously reviewing the list of occupations to check the growing need of a particular occupation. Also the government is focusing on high value skills which will assist the needs of the labor skills as per the Australia’s future.

The annual update of skilled occupation list will apply to all new applications lodged on or after 1st July 2011. Though, the people who are applicable for the transitional arrangements can apply as per the SOL in effect on 8th February 2011. Also one should note that priority processing arrangements can change according to Ministerial Direction.
