Australian immigration department is encouraging those immigrants who want to invest in the country via Australian Investor Immigration Visa. The investor visa will grant visas to those immigrants who have a successful history of business management or investment. These investors are expected to invest in country’s economy and use their skills to support it. There are two basic categories for this kind of visa:-
- Provisional Visa
- Residential Visa
Under both the categories, we have to classes i.e. sponsored and independent immigration visa.
Provisional sponsored visa has following categories:-
- Business Owner
- Senior Executive
- Investor
Business Owner– If you have a successful business career, which involves some senior management position or owning a business then you can apply under this category. You need to have a genuine commitment and significant business assets. You will be participating and managing either a new business or an already existing business. Age of the applicant must be below fifty-five years at the time of applying for this visa. Minimum AUD300, 000 assets are required. Assets of spouse are valid and countable. Annual turnover of applicants business for at least two out of last four years must be equal to or more than AUD500, 000.
Senior Executive– This category is for those willing immigrants who have rich experience of overseas businesses and have been responsible for planning and policy development affecting a wide range of operations of that business. The applicant under this category needs to have significant net assets and a commitment to contribute as a principal in the administration of a new or already existing business. Principal applicant and his/ her spouse need to have minimum AU$250,000 that can be acquired and transferred to Australia within two years of approval. He/ She should have been working at one of the top three level of management from the top for two out of past four years. Age limit for applicants under this category is also fifty-five years.
Investor– If you have a successful business investment record then you should apply under Australian investor immigration visa. A person willing to invest in country’s economy for at least four years and having significant net assets is a suitable candidate for this Australian immigration visa category. The amount one needs to invest is AUD1, 500,000. Minimum net asset requirement is AUD2, 250,000 and age need to be less than fifty-five years at the time of application.
These visas are initially for four years on provision then they can be extended or converted into permanent visas on the basis of certain criteria. Australian immigration and citizenship department is very strict about health and character requirements. Applicant has to go through number of medical checkups via panel of doctors appointed by Australian immigration department. For character proof, one has to acquire police certificates for the countries in which they stayed for more than a year within past ten years.
Similar three classes exist within independent provisional visas. In these categories applicants needs to be equal to or less than forty-five at the time of applying.
