Australia Investor (Provisional) Subclass 162 visas is for the people living overseas and who plan to invest a certain amount in Australia for at least four years and need to be less than 45 years old in age. A visa charge is also applicable which is non refundable. With this visa one can travel in and out of Australia any number of times, can work and study if he/she wishes to, can ask family members to join him/her, and can also get a permanent residence.

This is not a permanent visa; it’s given on temporary basis. And the one who is applying for this visa should be out of Australia while applying for it, but if one is interested in applying for state territory sponsored visa, he/she can do it after completing 2 years with the investor visa. Also with this visa one cannot seek family assistance and social security. The one who is applying for this visa should not be single before entering Australia. He/ she should be married and none of his/she family members can enter Australia before him/her.

One can apply for a permanent business skills visa after 2 years of the investor visa. This visa deprives you of few rights like one cannot access Medicare and the hospital expenses till such time that you become an Australian permanent resident under permanent business skills category. Also Private health insurance, which is usually required for other visa categories, is not required for this one. This visa is valid from the date that one reaches Australia.
