Australia Lets Work Visa Applicants to Use Existing Skills Assessments!

In response to the excessive enquiries from international students and prospective applicants, the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship has finally made changes to the requirement of skills assessment for many of the Work Visas. Earlier, the Australian immigration department required skills assessments to be done on or after January 1, 2010 for some work visa categories, however, this rule has been reviewed now.

The changed skills assessment requirement is applied to a few work visa types. They include, Skilled Sponsored Work Visas; Skilled Independent Work Visas; and Skilled Regional Sponsored Work Visas. If prospective applicants who intend to apply under these categories have assessment done dated before January, 2010, would work. In other words, they do not need to get their skills assessed once again, in case they are done with that process prior to January.

Applicants who have selected a trade occupation under any of the aforementioned skilled visa categories, are now allowed to use their skills assessments issued before January 1 when filing a visa application in order to immigrate to Oz.

If you are intending to immigrate to Australia, start the process by contacting an Immigration and Visa Consultant. You will be guided through the immigration process, right from filing your petition to landing in the new land!
