The strategy of cleansing the Immigration system has taken Australia to implement some stringent rules on Student Immigration system. The nation has re-registered agents who offer e-visa assistance to Indian students intending to study overseas. Also, the nation has only identified 22 firms out of the 121 firms from all over the nation.
The measure would rigidify the overall procedure of immigrating to Australia as a lot of questions have been raised regarding the authenticity of student-visa agents in India who make fake documents and send their clients on forgery basis.
Earlier, the government of Australia had asked the e-visa agents in India to re-register them and ensure their verification with them. The same request went to the immigration agents providing their services in the Aussie country along with those student-visa agents working outside Australia. In addition, they were acquainted of the role assigned and expected from them. 121 agents showed their interest towards providing e-visa services, but only 22 out of them were granted the authentication for their legal status.
Reports also point out that the number of Indian students has already declined by a huge margin, courtesy the recent incidents happening on the Aussie land. Also, the closure of some private institutions in Australia left some students in the state of limbo. Now, these rigid changes would reduce the number further.
Also, under the new rules, the agency should be attired with ample staff training in Aussie international education industry, along with following the proper code of conduct and keeping the records in sequence with them. The agent should be geared with a good character!
