At the conference of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association on last Tuesday, the Brisbane Federal MP and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Settlement and Citizenship said that migration is an effective solution to the shortage of skilled workers in the country.
According to the government official, they are in need for skilled workers which is of high priority.
Even though of the drives for recruitment by the Government of Western Australia is looking for skilled workers from Britain, the Australian immigration minister believes that all commonwealth nations can contribute a lot to help the migrants to settle down in their new nation.
According to a representative of the Ramphal Centre, all the countries should develop certain effective strategies to address the negative perceptions of public regarding migrants. The Ramphal Centre is an autonomous institution which was established to provide necessary aid to the Commonwealth nations with issues of various government policies.
The representative of the Ramphal Centre has also said that the heads of governments should focus on better management of an important process that provides more opportunities than threats. Apart from this, they also should go for balancing of national policy public debate on migration, from making policies to management.
Among 600, only 26 Australian representatives from 137 Commonwealth Parliaments have participated in the conference in London. This conference is regarded as a platform of discussion of the issues affecting the nations.
