A recent study revealed that Australia witnesses an increasing population due to the rising number of overseas immigrants who access the country having different purposes and finally choose it as their residing place even after fulfilling their main purpose.

Unprecedented growth in population during the last decade caused by a large number of overseas immigrants who migrated to the country and settled down here, stated by Andrew Howe, ABC spokesperson.

Statistically, Melbourne has registered a total number of populations 647,200 of people, whereas South Morang witnessed the highest number of 32,200 people. On the other hand, various other regions like Cook, Springs, Caroline, Tarneit, also saw a noticeable growth in population.

Describing the root cause of increasing population, Howe, said, “Growing number of overseas immigrants in the country pushed up the population growth. Many of immigrants have chosen Melbourne to work and reside, as of result highest population growth.”

He further said, “Inner city living attracts immigrants and became a huge popular in almost all Australian cities, it draws the attention of especially young children, who are interested to be closer with wonderful option to work and study.

Apart from that, Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, also registered 25 per cent growth in its population, which is called the second largest population growth in the country.

Getting a close review of the last decade, many foreigners immigrated to Australiain recent years to fill the huge shortage of skilled workers as the country is facing a grim situation caused by this.

Australia, however, continues welcoming more overseas workers under its skilled visa program to fill some more requirements by various employers in the country.
