Australian Firms Aim to Appoint More Overseas Skilled Workers

There are a lot of things that have made Australia a demanding immigration destination across the world. Its beautiful location, rich culture and sound social structure have made it the best place to live in.

According to a report by Global Consultancy Services firm KPMG, 80% of Australian companies are planning to hire foreign workers. Nine out of ten companies in Western Australia are aiming for the same to fulfill the shortages of skills in the country.

The report has showed that except Queensland, the rest of the country is facing skills shortages. 61% among the surveyed employers were seemed to get affected by the shortage of skilled workforce.

In comparison to July last year, this year, in Western Australia, the temporary 457 visa holders got increased by 85%.

Simone Mc Gurk, Unions Western Australia Secretary was quoted as saying they are mainly concerned about the developing culture in the country in which employers going for 457 visa workers than providing training to the native workers.

However, there are many people who think that skilled immigration is very beneficial. The Petroleum Production and Exploration Association of Australian says that migration provides value to the resources industry.
