Applicants submitting an application under Business Skills Category must:
- Possess a minimum net worth of CDN $800,000 to invest
- Make a minimum investment of CDN $400,000 to start the eligible business
- Have minimum ownership of one third of the equity of the business
- Possess a business plan to create a minimum of three new jobs–either for Canadian citizens or for the permanent residents.
- Have the required skills and experience to successfully manage the business.
Applicants submitting an application under Regional Business Category must have:
- Business venture situated outside the Vancouver and the Abbotsford Metropolitan Areas
- Minimum net worth of CDN $400,000
- Minimum investment of CDN $200,000 to begin the eligible business
- Minimum ownership of 33% of the equity of the business
- Business plan to generate a minimum of one new job for a citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada
- Expertise and the experience required to successfully set up and run a business
The third & the last class allows firms from abroad to set-up an office in BC, and bring in key foreign professional, managerial or technical employees, a minimum of five in numbers who have the goal to become a Permanent Resident in the Maple Leaf Country.
Companies in this category must:
- Make a minimum equity investment of CDN $500,000
- Generate not less than three fresh employment opportunities for Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents for every nominee aspirant put forward by the company
- Successfully prove that the nominee aspirants are indispensable to the proposed business and have a record of excellent business practices.
