British Schools Filled with Students from Non-English Speaking Background!

According to new reports, over 1,500 schools in the UK are mostly filled with students who speak English as a second language. This clearly points to the high immigration rates to the nation. The nation has been experiencing huge flow of immigrants since 1997. As per the record, there were 866 schools in England in total in 1997. According to the Department of Children, Schools and Families, during that time over half of the students used English as a second language.

Came year 2009, when the number of schools increased to 1,545. It was 78 percent rise from the year 1997. According to the new survey, UK has a total of 1,284 primary schools; 210 secondary schools and 51 special schools. Accumulating all the students of these schools, survey found that over half of the students belong to non-English speaking communities. One in every seven primary students group does not speak English as their first or primary language; and one in every ten secondary students group uses the language as their second language.

The root cause for the increase in number of students from non-English speaking background is immigration, which is likely to hindering the nation’s integrity. According to some critics, this problem can only be addressed by cutting down the immigration rates. Well, a lot of changes awaits as the General Elections 2010 is going to held in May. Let’s see what changes we are to witness in the UK immigration arena!
