Canada Immigration Bill Faces Criticism!

The newly proposed legislation in Canada to prevent the illegal human trafficking has been criticized by many eminent political leaders in the country. The law was proposed to revamp Canada immigration and to make sure that people do not abuse the system at any cost.

Some criticized that the legislation is going to attack refugees. Many Liberal and Democrat leaders do not seem to be happy with the introduction of the legislation saying that the country’s PM is overreacting to such a fraction of refugee claimants that claim for asylum status in a year. However, no matter how much criticism the legislation is receiving for both the parties, neither of the two seem to be rejecting the bill. The bill might go to a committee for further review, and some amendments might be done to it before it is declared as a law in the North American country.

Reportedly, the legislation has been proposed in a response to the arrival of two boats full of asylum seekers from Sri Lanka at the start of 2010. As per the legislation, illegal entrants in Canada get detention sentence up to twelve months.

If the bill sees the light of the day when it becomes a law, it would bring a lot of changes to the Canadian immigration scenario. And of course, it is for the betterment of the country’s immigration system. Illegal immigration often creates lots of problems in a country. It is not acceptable if someone abuse the immigration system to enter a country in order to lead a better life. Canada has been a welcoming country when it comes to immigration of overseas people, but it does not mean that the country would overlook things of this sort!
